I was introduced to dentistry by my sister, Dr. Keri Halgren, who trained me to work as a dental assistant in 2001. I am a registered dental assistant and have worked as an orthodontic assistant since 2005. I primarily work with patients as a clinical assistant, but I also spend much of my time making retainers, orthodontic models, and your custom braces trays.
I have two wonderful dogs named Chevy and Rausch. They are American Pit Bull Terriers and they are very friendly. The keys to good Pit Bulls is a good owner and socializing the dogs. They are my “kids,” and I can usually be found on sunny days with them at a dog park in Bellingham, Anacortes or Sedro Woolley.
I enjoy watching and playing all types of sports. I played basketball in college - a Point Guard at Emporia State University, and recently started coaching the 5th and 6th grade girls at Immaculate Conception Regional School. I also love to travel and have visited Spain, Italy, Austria, France, Switzerland and Greece.
My parents still live in Kansas, but much of my family has been transplanted to Washington, so I get to spend a lot of quality time with my brother, sister and nieces.

I attended Skagit Valley College for some of my prerequisites, then attended Bellingham Tech where I earned my AAS in Applied Science and my Dental Assisting Certificate.
My husband Juan Pablo and I have a one year old baby boy named Juan Isaiah, whom we call Isaiah. I also have a Yorkie Poodle - Shih Tzu mix named Princess. It was nice finding her because of my allergies.
